Current work place and position: Greenwood Medical Clinic, Seattle

I have been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 30 years, serving the uninsured and underinsured in the Seattle metropolitan area. For the last three years I have been employed at the Greenwood Medical Clinic, one of Neighbor Care Health Clinics (formerly Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers). We see a diverse population of low-income families, immigrants, refugees and patients with mental health and substance abuse problems.

I have spent time overseas with the World Health Organization and International Rescue Service training advanced practice nurses and managing health training centers. Practicing locally I have precepted advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and medical residents.

I am running for the Board of ARNPs United of Washington State because a small group of very dedicated men and women have been working very hard for my benefit over the past 30 years to allow me to practice as broadly as I do. It is time for me to do my part and let them take a rest.
