I graduated from the WSU School of Nursing in 1974, have worked as an RN my entire career. I have had the opportunity to work in critical care, orthopedics, mother/baby, MCH, Public Health, Home Health, and Hospice. I have held various charge nurse positions and have been assistant or Director of several programs. I obtained my first Master’s in Nursing from the University of Portland in 1991, at which time I began teaching for the YVCC Associate Nursing Program. I then joined the faculty ranks for WSU/ICNE shortly afterwards in 1991. I have continued to teach in the undergraduate and RNB program for WSU for many years, and have also served as the Director for the Nursing Program in Yakima for 10 years, stepping down in 2007. In the fall of 2002 I enrolled at Gonzaga University to obtain a Post Master’s as a Nurse Practitioner. I finished my program and passed the National Boards in 2004. I have practiced as an ARNP in several clinics since graduation but my primary focus has been occupational medicine, and student health. I continue to teach for WSU, this fall in the Basic and Graduate Program.
